Hicksville American Soccer Club Travel Program is managed to foster the growth and development of our players through the sport of soccer. These teams play under the rules and regulations of the Long Island Junior Soccer League and our travel program consists of over 20 teams entered in the U-9 through U-19 age brackets for both boys & girls.
Although competition is keen and fostering the development of individual player skills is stressed, the concept of sportsmanship is still of prime importance to the Board of Directors and the Club’s membership. Like our goals for the intramural program, teaching individual skills, meeting new people and having fun, fostering the love of the game of soccer is still the ultimate goal for our travel program.
Playing on a Travel team is by Coach's invitation only. Tryouts occur each May/June for the Fall and Spring seasons. Some teams look to add players in the Spring. Please reach out to the coach of your age group if interested.
Route 135 Interleague
The club offers all U9, U10, U11, U12 boys and girls the opportunity to play in the Route 135 Interleague. The Route 135 Interleague is an intramural program with certain travel program characteristics geared towards children who want to play soccer in a friendly competitive arena with less commitment than that of a travel program. Typically each team has approximately 12-20 players and is usually coached by a parent of one of the children on the team. Each team will play between 7-8 games per season (Fall & Spring) against teams from other towns close to Route 135 (e.g. Plainview, Levittown, Massapequa, Bethpage). As part of this program, the club provides organized professional training sessions. This program allows boys and girls the opportunity to better their soccer skills and grow as soccer players, similar to club's travel program.
The Route 135 Interleague is based on the LIJSL cutoff dates. This league is flexible and it is intended for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 12. The club will make every attempt to group together the children in their divisions as follows: U9 with U10, U11 with U12. This is done to maintain a good balance within each of the two combined divisions, but keep in mind that the composition of the teams and their respective divisions will eventually be determined by the number of participants.
